The construction work of the battery storage station with a capacity of 50 MW has been completed in Baganur district. The construction of the station started on September 6, and it was planned to be commissioned on November 30. According to the plan, the construction work was completed on the 30th of last month, and trial work began. B. Monkhbat, head of the capital's Investment Department, clarified this.
He said, "As part of the goal of ensuring the reliable operation of energy in Ulaanbaatar, the construction of a battery plant with a capacity of 50 MW has started in Baganuur district. Last week, the technical commission worked and connected the test connection. The state commission will work on the station after organizing the testing procedure and technical adjustment. The capital has submitted its request for the establishment of a state commission to the relevant authorities. After the work of the state commission, the station will be handed over to the users. The total budgeted cost of the work is 293.5 billion MNT. "As of today, testing or smoothing work is being done."
The building of the station was built by China's "Envision Energy" company, and domestic company "Monhorus International" worked as a subcontractor. When the battery storage station is put into operation, it will be possible to collect the excess energy produced at night and supply it back to the central system during peak times.
